How interesting it is on his journey to adulthood that so much of who I am and how I’ve defined myself is slowly changing.To spend the time and effort on things I once did has no become so meaningless. It’s like the whole sum of my identity has been pressed into a funnel, and only a certain quantity of who I was can pass through. Only so much of me at a time, and only so much ultimately. The other night I was working on some artwork for a friend’s birthday. Once complete, I was surprised to discover that four hours had passed! I had sacrificed time I could have spent doing homework (like studying for an exam that following day). However, I decided my efforts had been well worth the cost, because this was important to me: I really wanted to bless my friend and to show her how much I cared.
