Where Devotion is Due

The other night I was working on some artwork for a friend’s birthday. Once complete, I was surprised to discover that four hours had passed! I had sacrificed time I could have spent doing homework (like studying for an exam that following day). However, I decided my efforts had been well worth the cost, because this was important to me: I really wanted to bless my friend and to show her how much I cared.

A Smile For Me (poem)

A smile for me—honeycomb sweet,
On a face that is all my own;

Two radiant stars of a heavenly glow,
The focus of me alone;

Rustling locks of colorful grains,
To harvest by my own hands;

The face by which my dreams are made
And my foundation stands.
